Vedalab Presents Wide Range of Quantitative Rapid Tests

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 13 Nov 2023

Vedalab (Cerisé, France) is presenting its wide range of lateral flow qualitative rapid tests and rapid tests for home use alongside its new generation rapid test reader at MEDICA 2023.

Vedalab offers several rapid tests for drugs of abuse detection (one drug/test) for home use including cannabinoid, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines and methamphetamines. These tests are to be used with urine samples. Vedalab also offers an immunochromatographic rapid test for the qualitative detection of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and influenza A and B viruses in nasal or nasopharyngeal swab samples. This is in addition to its immunochromatographic rapid test for the quantitative detection of anti-spike (S1) IgM and IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 virus in human whole blood, plasma, or serum samples. When used in combination with the VEDALAB Easy reader+ instrument, it can detect and quantify IgM and IgG antibodies to the spike SARS-CoV-2 protein produced after virus infection in human serum, plasma, or finger prick whole blood samples.

At MEDICA 2023, Vedalab is demonstrating the Easy reader+ POC reader that allows quantitative measurements from fingerprick whole blood samples using rapid lateral flow tests. The instrument includes the most advanced and up-to-date technologies (touch screen, enhanced memory, and internet upgrading). The quantitative lateral flow immunochromatography analyzer is intended to provide a quantitative immunochromatography assay result for a wide range of otherwise purely qualitative rapid test devices to increase the accuracy and efficiency of the home, point of care, and laboratory testing of the relevant marker analytes.
